Have you heard about Gerbeaud (or Zserbó), the famous Hungarian layered cake with an apricot walnut filling, covered in a thin chocolate glaze? You haven’t? That’s alright. Now you get to try it ‘cause we bring it to you in a liquid form.
gerbeaud is a velvety, full-bodied imperial pastry stout with an upfront wave of decadent dark chocolate. Following closely is the burst of intense apricot flavor, providing a pleasant sour and fruity contrast that cuts through the richness of the chocolate. The nutty undertone of crushed walnuts emerges towards the end, offering a subtle earthy complexity that complements the flavor profile. Just like with the dessert itself, it’s all in the layers.
