Sysi dark tar lager was inspired by the North Ostrobothnian heritage. Its distinctive character comes from rye malts from local malt house Pehkolan Mallastamo and the smoky tar aroma from Lentiiran Terwa, based in the wilderness of Kainuu. These two key Nordic ingredients will carry you through even the darkest of winters.
This beer is the first creation of a three-part beer project collaboration with Arctic Food Lab! To celebrate Oulu’s Capital of Culture year, we’re brewing beers in the spirit of Northern Ostrobothnia.
The artwork on the label was created by artist Elisa Leppänen, who has brought the tar trail to life in a visually striking design.
